Nordic Capital supports a number of non-profit organisations and initiatives focused on social entrepreneurship, education and research. Through long-term partnerships, financial support and employee engagement, Nordic Capital aims to contribute to positive societal development.
"Creating lasting change takes long-term commitment. By supporting organisations that expand access to entrepreneurship and education, and research that deepens our understanding of what drives a prosperous society, we can contribute to stronger and more inclusive communities."
Elin Ljung, Chairperson of the CSR Committe and Operating Partner, Nordic Capital Advisors
Social entrepreneurship
Nordic Capital supports organisations that use entrepreneurship to address social challenges and strengthen economic self-sufficiency. Long-standing partnerships include Hand in Hand and Solar Sister, which support entrepreneurs in underserved communities across Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. Nordic Capital also supports Inkludera, which works with Swedish social entrepreneurs focused on inclusion and equal opportunities.
Inclusive education
Nordic Capital supports organisations and initiatives that broaden access to education and support young people in developing knowledge and skills. Nordic Capital has supported the URDT Girls’ School in Uganda since 2014, where academic studies are combined with practical skills development and leadership training. Other partnerships include Human Practice Foundation, which works with schools and local communities to improve access to quality education, as well as Teach for Sweden and Läxhjälpen in Sweden.
Academic research
Nordic Capital supports independent academic research that contributes to a deeper understanding of entrepreneurship, innovation, productivity and sustainable growth. The aim is to support research that adds knowledge and evidence to the wider discussion about business, the economy and society. Long-standing research partnerships include the European Centre for Entrepreneurship and Policy Reform, ECEPR, and the Research Institute of Industrial Economics, IFN. Nordic Capital has also supported ECEPR’s research into knowledge-intensive and high-tech growth in Europe and beyond.
