Nordnet's three business areas are Investments & Savings, which consists primarily of online investing in shares and funds; Loans, where Nordnet offers mortgages, unsecured personal loans and margin lending with securities as collateral; and Pension which offers pension savings in Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

Nordic Capital Fund VIII acquired Nordnet in a recommended public tender offer presented on October 25, 2016 and completed on January 25, 2017. The ambition is to create a best-in-class customer experience in the digital savings industry.
