Gina Tricot is one of the Nordic region's leading retailers for fashion oriented females, founded in 1997. The company operates some 180 stores in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Germany.

Gina Tricot operates in the fast fashion segment of the Nordic apparel market, which is one of the most attractive in Europe in terms of per capita spending, and where this segment is outgrowing the overall market. Stores are mainly located in high street A-locations or in shopping centres. The company is also rapidly developing its online offering.

The company was operated by the founding family until Nordic Capital Fund VIII’s investment in 2014. Prior to the investment, Nordic Capital had been following the company for a number of years. Gina Tricot had since it was founded experienced significant growth, until approximately 3 years before Nordic Capital's investment when the company has had a stagnated revenue development.
