corpuls: innovating lifesaving technology for emergency and intensive care worldwide

For more than four decades, corpuls has stood at the forefront of emergency medical technology. Since Nordic Capital’s investment in 2023, the company has strengthened its operational efficiency and accelerated its international expansion while remaining true to its founding vision of delivering innovation, clinical quality, and responsible partnership in every relationship.

Founded in 1982 in Kaufering, Germany, corpuls began with a simple mission: to create technologies that save lives. What started as a regional pioneer has grown into a global company with more than 700 employees and customers in over 70 countries.

Today, corpuls offers a broad range of innovative products designed to support professionals in emergency settings. Its portfolio includes advanced portable defibrillators, patient monitoring devices, mechanical chest compression systems and integrated telemedicine solutions, all engineered for reliability, speed and intuitive use in the most demanding environments.

Partnership-driven expansion with Nordic Capital

Nordic Capital places strong emphasis on building collaborative, long-term partnerships with founders and management teams. This philosophy shaped the 2023 investment in corpuls, bringing industry expertise, a global network and experience scaling innovative healthcare companies.

The collaboration is guided by a joint value-creation plan focused on accelerating research and development and expanding into new markets and hospital segments. A key element of the partnership is the continued involvement of the corpuls founding family, whose vision and values remain central to the company’s culture and strategic direction.

Strategic growth and operational investments since 2023

corpuls has reached several important milestones since partnering with Nordic Capital. In 2024, the company acquired Riedel + Schulz and Hestomed Nord, two long-standing distribution and service partners, strengthening direct market access, deepening customer relationships and improving responsiveness to healthcare providers across Europe. Building on this momentum, corpuls completed the acquisitions of the two remaining German distribution partners Meßmer Medizintechnik and Hans Peter Esser in 2025, advancing its commercial roll-up strategy.

In June 2025, corpuls acquired Cosinuss, a pioneer in in-ear sensor technology for mobile vital monitoring. This addition broadens corpuls’ wearable capabilities and supports its accelerated entry into the US market.

Alongside M&A, corpuls has invested significantly in its operational platform. The opening of a new production facility near Kaufering will increase manufacturing capacity and ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency and sustainability as global demand grows.

These achievements have also been recognised externally. In 2024, corpuls was ranked second among Germany’s fastest-growing medium-sized companies by Handelsblatt and Munich Strategy, a testament to its strong trajectory and operational excellence.

Deepening the mission: Sustainable growth to save more lives

corpuls’ mission has always extended beyond developing advanced devices; it is about supporting the professionals who save lives every day. The company works closely with emergency services, hospitals and healthcare teams to understand their needs and create solutions that truly matter in critical moments.

In recent years, corpuls has deepened this mission through strong investment in digital transformation and telemedicine. Its integrated platforms enable seamless data exchange between ambulances, hospitals and command centres, ensuring that critical information reaches the right people at the right time. Thus, better decision making enhances patient outcomes and supports faster, more coordinated care in time-sensitive situations.

A defining feature of this partnership is a shared commitment to responsibility. corpuls continues to invest in talent development, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning and innovation. The company has also continued to uphold the highest standards in product safety, regulatory compliance and environmental sustainability.

A vision for the future: Lifesaving impact at global scale

Looking ahead, corpuls aims to further strengthen its leadership in emergency medical solutions, expand its presence in hospital and critical care environments and advance the next generation of telemedicine and digital health technologies. Every step is guided by a passion for supporting healthcare professionals and improving patient outcomes worldwide. With Nordic Capital’s expertise, resources and strategic perspective, corpuls is well-positioned to realise these ambitions.

Three questions to Christoph Brönnimann, CEO:

How has it been to partner with Nordic Capital?

It has been both energising and transformational. Nordic Capital brings not just financial strength but also a deep expertise and understanding of the healthcare and medtech landscape. This has enabled corpuls to stay true to its core principles, while also accelerating growth and expanding reach. We have crafted a joint vision that is guiding us into new international markets and enabling investments in important areas. Nordic Capital’s collaborative approach, operational know-how and network of professionals have made them a truly valuable partner for corpuls.

What milestones and achievements are you excited about?

I would say the decision to expand our manufacturing capacity with a new production facility near our headquarters, which marks a significant step in scaling to meet growing global demand.

I would also add, our capability to implement large telemedicine projects and our ongoing commitment to innovation in leading medical devices lead to a convergence of our digital solutions and devices that truly make a difference.

What does the future hold for corpuls?

corpuls has a huge potential. Our priority is to build upon our strong foundation by continuing to invest in innovation, expanding our product portfolio and delivering solutions for emergency and intensive care professionals worldwide. Together with Nordic Capital, we will further strengthen our international footprint and push deeper into new markets, while also accelerating our efforts in key segments. Our legacy is built on passion, technical excellence and a commitment to improving patient outcomes – and that will remain at the heart of everything we do.
