MARCH 20 2017

- Partnership provides a platform to boost understanding of exponential technologies, innovation and entrepreneurship within Nordic Capital's portfolio companies as well as the wider Nordic region

Nordic Capital is the first private equity fund to enter into a strategic partnership with SingularityU Denmark, the Scandinavian collaborative venture of Silicon Valley-based Singularity University. Singularity University is a global learning and innovation enterprise founded by well-renowned Silicon Valley technology experts Ray Kurzweil and Peter Diamandis, which applies exponential technologies to solve the world's greatest challenges. The strategic partnership provides Nordic Capital and its portfolio companies privileged access to education, knowledge and inspiration relating to ground-breaking technology which will benefit and accelerate the ability of Nordic Capital's portfolio companies to embrace further technological developments within their businesses.

SingularityU Denmark is Singularity University's largest collaboration outside Silicon Valley and is located in a 5,000 m2 space in Copenhagen Science City with the aim to provide a platform to support digitalisation, innovation and entrepreneurship in the Nordics. Since its establishment in Silicon Valley in 2008, Singularity University has educated and inspired thousands of leaders and entrepreneurs on the acceleration of technological developments and the implications for businesses and society in general.

SingularityU Denmark will have a Scandinavian and global expert faculty covering areas such as; Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, Networks & Computing Systems, Medicine & Neuroscience, Nano-technology & Digital fabrication.

"This partnership is an investment in Nordic Capital's portfolio company talent and knowledge base and it demonstrates Nordic Capital's commitment to driving the digitalisation agenda and embracing the technological developments within its portfolio companies as well as within the wider society. I am very pleased that Nordic Capital is the first private equity fund to support the establishment of the new SingularityU Denmark by becoming a strategic partner. This is another great example of Nordic Capital's focus on Ownership Excellence as SingularityU Denmark provides us with a unique combination of the best that Silicon Valley has to offer together with innovative strengths that we have in the Nordic countries and furthers our ability to bring this to Nordic Capital's portfolio companies", says Lars Terney, Partner, NC Advisory A/S advisor to Nordic Capital Funds.

"In SingularityU Denmark we have an ambition to inspire and enable leaders to embrace technology across many industries and in companies of all sizes. That's why I'm really excited that Nordic Capital moved fast to be the first private equity fund to enter a partnership with SingularityU Denmark and thereby give access to high level training and programmes to a diverse group of portfolio companies. At SingularityU Denmark we have designed programmes for all levels in the organisations - from talents to executive management - and we're dedicated to support the change agents within the companies to drive the adoption of technology to create impact and enhance customer value. I'm excited about the ambition level of Nordic Capital in regards to the digital agenda and I think it sets a great example for the industry to really aim high in terms of training and technological understanding among core leaders and employees", says Laila Pawlak, CEO of SingularityU Denmark.

The partnership between SingularityU Denmark and Nordic Capital will provide access to a range of customised expert training programmes and innovation workshops for the Nordic Capital portfolio's cadre of executives and managers, as well as for talent development within Nordic Capital's own organisation.
