FEBRUARY 17 2026
Nordic Capital has been named winner of the "Corporate Sustainability Strategy of the Year: Firm-wide" at the Private Equity Wire European Awards 2026, recognising the firm’s long-term commitment to integrating sustainability across its investment strategy, operations and portfolio.
For two decades, Private Equity Wire has recognised excellence in fundraising, portfolio performance and service provision across the private markets industry. The winners of the 2026 European Awards were announced in connection with the annual Private Equity Wire European Summit in London, bringing together leading LPs and GPs from across Europe.
At Nordic Capital, sustainability is a core element of the firm’s investment strategy and value creation model. Guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Nordic Capital drives transformative sustainable growth across its portfolio by integrating sustainability throughout the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and due diligence to active ownership and exit.
This commitment is reflected in a structured, firm-wide sustainability platform supporting around 60 portfolio companies in setting measurable sustainability agendas, benchmarking performance and strengthening governance. Nordic Capital has secured approval of its greenhouse gas reduction targets from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), developed a sector-specific decarbonisation playbook and seen ten portfolio companies commit to SBTi to date. The firm ranks among the top 10 percent of private equity managers globally in the UN PRI assessment and has further embedded sustainability into its investment strategy, including through the establishment of its EUR 2 billion Evolution II fund as an SFDR Article 8 fund.
Elin Ljung, Operating Partner and Head of Sustainability & Communications, Nordic Capital Advisors, commented:
"I am proud to see Nordic Capital recognised for the progress made in embedding sustainability as a core element of its investment and value creation model. Over the past years, Nordic Capital has built a structured, data-driven and operational approach that supports portfolio companies in strengthening performance, managing risks and accelerating their transition. Nordic Capital remains committed to driving measurable results and long-term sustainable value creation."
