Kristoffer Melinder named as one of the most influential people in European private equity for the second consecutive year

DECEMBER 04 2019

  • Accolade comes at the end of a year that has seen Nordic Capital continue to achieve strong growth

Kristoffer Melinder, Managing Partner, Nordic Capital Advisors, has been included in the annual list of Europe’s 50 Most Influential in Private Equity for the second consecutive year. The prestigious list, selected by Financial News and Private Equity News, were chosen for their leadership and firepower within their respective firms and the wider European market. Each individual’s track record, particularly over the last 12-18 months, was also considered, as was their ability to influence the regional markets in the year ahead.

The list describes how Kristoffer Melinder has led Nordic Capital’s expansion, including its recent move into the US market by opening an advisory office in New York, where the firm will be building on Nordic Capital’s extensive experience as a global healthcare investor; and its partnership with strategic passive minority investor, Ottawa Avenue Private Capital, which will strengthen its balance sheet and support further growth. The list also cited Nordic Capital’s notable recent transactions in 2019 such as the acquisition of digital locking company iLOQ, the investment in financial services company Bank Norwegian and the purchase of technology company Signicat.

Kristoffer Melinder commented: “It is a great honour to be included in this list of very talented individuals for a second year. It marks the end to a very successful year for Nordic Capital, during which significant steps have been made to develop and grow our organisation as well as Nordic Capital’s portfolio companies. This success would not have been possible without the commitment of our whole team and I am delighted to be able to share this industry recognition with them.”

This accolade honours the end of a significant 2019 for Nordic Capital. It has maintained a high level of transactional activity, completing 8 platform acquisitions and successfully divesting a number of its portfolio companies, including 2 full exits and 2 partial sell downs of shares. These transactions build on Nordic Capital’s sector focused portfolio and reinforce its leading position in Healthcare, Technology & Payments and Financial Services.

Note: The 50 “most influential” persons were selected by Financial News and Private Equity News, who conducted thorough market research to assess candidates’ firepower in Europe, their recent track records and their wider industry profile.
