Following a strong year including a record fundraising and high transaction activity, Nordic Capital won across the following three categories: “Pan European House of The Year”, “UK Upper Mid-Cap Deal of The Year (for The Binding Site)” and “Environmental Social and Governance GP (Large Cap)”. This is the second hat-trick of industry award wins for Nordic Capital, following the triple win at the Private Equity International Awards a month ago.

The Real Deals Private Equity Awards celebrate excellence in European private equity and are now in their 22nd year. The awards are highly regarded, and the esteemed panel of judges is made up of some of the leading European GPs and LPs.

Kristoffer Melinder, Managing Partner, Nordic Capital Advisors, comments:

“We are absolutely delighted that Nordic Capital has been recognised at the Private Equity Awards for its high transaction activity, intense focus on active ownership and focus on integration of ESG measures across Nordic Capital’s portfolio of market-leading businesses. Despite a difficult economic backdrop, Nordic Capital completed the close of Nordic Capital XI at its hard cap of EUR 9 billion as well as eight platform deals and four exits, including the landmark exit of The Binding Site. The success is testament to the strength and hard work of the team and Nordic Capital is grateful for this recognition by the industry.”

It has also taken a lead position within ESG and sustainability. UK Upper Mid-Cap Deal of The Year

Nordic Capital won “UK Upper Mid-Cap Deal of The Year” for its successful exit of The Binding Site, a global leader in specialty diagnostics. Since Nordic Capital’s acquisition in 2011, The Binding Site has made an impressive transformation from a founder-led research-based organisation to a leader in delivering innovative medical solutions that improve the detection, diagnostics and management of blood cancers and immune system disorders. The company has grown fivefold, with revenues amounting to approximately GBP 200 million in 2022 and more than 40 million tests sold globally.

Environmental Social and Governance GP (Large Cap)

Nordic Capital won “ESG GP Large Cap” following the successful close of Fund XI, a EUR 9 billion SFDR Article 8 Fund committed to high ESG standards. Nordic Capital achieved the highest score from UNPRI, putting it in the top 10% of private equity firms globally for ESG integration. In addition, Nordic Capital has reported that 90% of its current portfolio companies have integrated sustainability in their business plans and Nordic Capital has undertaken many new initiatives to drive ESG across the organisation and its portfolio, including continued support of ESG industry initiatives and reporting.  Sustainability is central to Nordic Capital’s investment process and its Responsible Investment Policy is applied throughout the due diligence, investment, ownership and exit phases.
