Nordic Capital to acquire Flowa, a leading provider of engineered water infrastructure solutions

JUNE 10 2026

Nordic Capital today announces an agreement to acquire Flowa Technology AB (”Flowa”), a leading provider of engineered water infrastructure solutions in the UK and the Nordics, from Vestum AB (publ), a Swedish industrial services and product group. Operating through a group of specialist subsidiaries, Flowa provides advanced solutions, monitoring technology and engineering services that help improve critical water and wastewater infrastructure. The company's products and services support more efficient use of water resources, prevent pollution and reduce climate impact.

When water and wastewater infrastructure is disrupted, there is often only a limited time window to restore flow before a technical failure becomes an environmental incident. Flowa’s specialist teams help operators respond rapidly by designing, deploying and operating engineered solutions in technically demanding environments. With more than 3,000 submersible and surface mounted pumps, proprietary monitoring technology and a broad range of engineering updated and aftermarket services, Flowa provides an end-to-end service offering across the infrastructure lifecycle.

Following decades of underinvestment, the European water and wastewater infrastructure is in need of significant upgrades to cater for growing populations and increased demands on environmental standards of today. In the UK, the water sector is now entering its largest planned investment cycle on record. Water utilities are expected to spend more than GBP 100 billion on infrastructure upgrades over the coming years, roughly doubling spend from the previous regulatory cycle. Flowa is well-positioned to serve water utilities and other players in the value chain, both as they work to upgrade ageing infrastructure and when failures require rapid response, helping prevent the environmental consequences of wastewater discharges.

Flowa has delivered consistent growth over the past years, both organically and through strategic acquisitions, and enters this next phase with strong operational and financial momentum. Nordic Capital will work closely with the management team to accelerate investments in Flowa’s service capabilities, technology and geographic reach, with the ambition of building a leading platform for engineered water infrastructure solutions across the UK and the Nordics.

"Flowa plays a mission-critical role in keeping water and wastewater infrastructure running, preventing the kind of failures that cause environmental incidents and significant consequences for utilities and communities alike. The company has earned the trust of a broad range of blue-chip customers over many years through expertise, reliability and availability, with a track record that is not easily replicated. The significant investment cycle ahead creates strong structural demand for Flowa's services, and Nordic Capital looks forward to supporting the company's continued development together with the management team," said Andreas Näsvik, Partner at Nordic Capital Advisors.

"Flowa has built a strong platform with leading positions in specialist water infrastructure soluions across the UK and the Nordics. Nordic Capital's investment gives us the backing to accelerate our growth, continue investing in our capabilities and further strengthen our ability to serve water utilities and infrastructure operators. I look forward to working closely with the Nordic Capital team to take the business through its next phase," said Simon Göthberg, CEO of Flowa.

The investment in Flowa is made within Services & Industrial Tech, which is one of Nordic Capital's core sectors, with particular focus on Advanced Services, Circular Solutions and Industrial Tech. Nordic Capital has a long track record of building businesses together with management teams that operate in regulated environments with strong structural demand and embedded customer relationships. Notable investments include Sortera, Cary Group, AutoCirc and Consilium Safety Group, among others.

Completion of the transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
