Responsible Investment Policy
Nordic Capital believes that attention to
Environmental, Social and Governance ("ESG") matters is a
prerequisite for long-term value creation. Nordic Capital always
aims to invest responsibly as it executes its investment
strategy.
As reflected in its mission statement, Nordic
Capital provides superior investment returns to its investors while
upholding the highest standards of integrity and acting in a way
that enhances the reputation of the
industry.
We set clear expectations for our portfolio
companies with regard to ESG matters and support our portfolio
companies by providing guidance and tools to help them meet our
expectations.
The general partners of the Nordic Capital
funds have adopted the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global
Compact. Nordic Capital encourages the boards of directors of its
portfolio companies to consider these principles when developing
their ESG strategies.
Nordic Capital also supports the United
Nations Principles of Responsible Investment ("UNPRI") and the
Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development ("OECD")
Principles of Corporate Governance.
In addition to the specific principles set
forth in this RI Policy, Nordic Capital aims to align with relevant
national and international conventions and standards. We are
committed to following the standards of the European Venture
Capital Association ("EVCA"), the Swedish Venture Capital
Association and other organisations to which we are a member or
signatory. Nordic Capital supports and acts in accordance with
EVCA's Handbook of Professional Standards and the International
Private Equity and Venture Capital Valuation and Reporting
Guidelines, both of which are an integral part of the EVCA
Handbook.
