Company description:
Leaf International is market leader in the chewing gum, pastilles and candy markets in the Netherlands, Finland and Sweden and a top player in an additional number of European countries. Headquartered in Oosterhout, the Netherlands, the company has 11 manufacturing plants across Europe and owns a number of strong European brands. Products include sugared and sugar-free gum, pastilles, wine gums, liquorices, peppermints, nougat and chews which are sold in more than 50 different countries.

Leaf International was acquired by Nordic Capital Fund V together with CVC Capital Partners in 2005. During Nordic Capital’s ownership there has been a strong focus on improving profitability through operational improvements including purchasing and production.

A new manufacturing facility has been opened in Slovakia. In Italy, an important add-on acquisition was completed in 2007 and the non-core French business was divested. Focus is following the successful restructuring on initiating to drive top-line growth and expand the reach of the strong brands.
