Finnveden
Sector/industry:
Metallic fasteners and automotive components
Company description:
Finnveden is an international engineering group that produces customer-specific components and systems primarily to the international automotive industry. The Finnveden group consists of two separate automotive businesses, Finnveden Bulten, a full-service provider of primarily metallic fasteners, and Finnveden Metal Structures, a maker of primarily stamped and cast automotive structures and assemblies. Through its two companies, Finnveden operates on a global market but has its key strength in Europe and the Nordic Region.

Nordic Capital Fund V purchased Finnveden through a public offer launched in 2004. After the buy out from the stock exchange, the Bufab business was separated from Finnveden to establish two stand-alone entities with focus on each of the companies’ core business.

In 2007 the Powertrain division was divested from Finnveden to Italian industrial buyer Gnutti, creating the world leading player within its niche segments. Finnveden Bulten has gone though a phase of strong growth and expansion. Finnveden Metal Structures has expanded its scope geographically, including the establishment of operations in Poland, as well as into more complex multi material assemblies.
