Sector/industry
Food service
Menigo is a leading Swedish food service company. It serves
20,000 customers with daily deliveries of frozen, chilled, colonial
goods, fresh fruit and vegetables and fresh meat. Menigo operates
from six warehouse locations in Sweden. Menigo was formerly a
division within ICA AB, Sweden's largest food retailer, acquired by
Nordic Capital Fund VI in 2006.
In February 2010, Brakes Group became the new principal owner of
Menigo. Brakes is one of Europe's leading suppliers of food, drinks
and equipment to the foodservice, sector with a turnover of about
EUR 2.5 billion. Menigo continues to operate as an independent
company in the Swedish market while benefiting from being a part of
a larger group, from the Brake Group's 50 years experience as a
focused food service supplier and its innovation capabilities.
Menigo's customers will be able to select from the combined group's
range of quality products.
