Playground equipment

Kompan is the World's leading playground equipment company. The company designs, manufactures and markets playground products in wood, metal and plastics. Its customers include municipalities, pre-schools, schools, house associations etc.

The company was acquired by Nordic Capital Fund V in 2005 through a public-to-private transaction. Under Nordic Capital's ownership, the company has grown substantially and eight add-on acquisitions have been made in Germany, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Australia, Denmark, Ireland and Belgium. Furthermore, the production facilities have been relocated to the Czech Republic.

Kompan is today the industry's clear innovation leader. The company was honoured with both the Red Dot Design Award and the French Janus de l'Industrie award for the outstanding design of Story Makers - a new series of playground equipment for children aged 2-6 with focus on theme and role play.
